Mids Travel to Charleston for 24th Annual All-Academy Championship

Navy has won the the team title in 13 of the 23 years the championship has been held.

Ott in 2016-17 (So.): Navy’s starter at heavyweight, he posted an 8-16 record including a 1-5 mark in dual competition ... wrestled at five regular-season tournament, including the All-Academy Championship where he defeated The Citadel’s Joe Bexley, 3-0, to take third ... recorded a 1-2 mark in his debut at the EIWA Championship, scoring a 9-4 decision over Franklin & Marshall’s Corey Kerkesner ... lost a 4-2 decision in the second sudden victory period against Bucknell’s Tyler Greene to bow out of the tournament.

2015-16 (Fr.): Produced a 9-12 record in his rookie season, earning his first collegiate victory with a 47-second fall against SUNY Sullivan’s Rob Cuomo at the East Stroudsburg Open ... went on to capture fourth at the East Stroudsburg Open ... also saw action at the Bearcat Open, Navy Classic, Franklin & Marshall Open and Shorty Hitchcock Memorial.

High School: A 2014 graduate of Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes, Del., Ott attended Naval Academy Prep School during the 2014-15 academic year ... a three-sport standout, he earned letters in football (4), lacrosse (4) and wrestling (4) ... a three-time state champion in wrestling, his high school team also won state titles in 2012-13-14 ... a three-time All-State (Del.) defenseman on the lacrosse team, he led Cape Henlopen to the 2014 state crown ... also earned All-State honors as a lineman on the football team ... served as team captain of all three teams for three years ... member of the National Honor Society.
