Fresh off its 2018 All-Academy Championship title win, the Navy wrestling team (6-2, 3-1 EIWA) returns to dual action on Friday when it travels to Norfolk, Va. to battle Old Dominion.  The two programs will square off in a nonconference showdown at Ted Constant Center starting at 7:00 pm.  A live video stream (subscription/fee-based) will be available by logging on to NavySports.com(.)

Navy Notebook
• Under fourth-year head coach Joel Sharratt, the Mids have put together a 6-2 dual meet mark that features a 3-1 record in EIWA matches.
• The first NCAA Coaches Panel Rankings were released two weeks ago and included six Navy wrestlers - #20 Nicholas Gil (Crystal Lake, Ill.) at 141, #20 Jared Prince (Safety Harbor, Fla.) at 149, #28 Zack Davis (Granger, Ind.) at 157, #19 Drew Daniels (Overland Park, Kan.) at 165, #8 Jadaen Bernstein (Glen Gardner, N.J.) at 174 and #14 Michael Coleman (Hudson, Ohio) at 184.
Nicholas Gil, Corey Wilding, Zack Davis, Drew Daniels, Jadaen Bernstein and Michael Coleman each won individual titles to lead Navy to the 2018 All-Academy Championship crown last Saturday at McAlister Field House in Charleston, S.C.  It marked the Mids’ 14th overall All-Academy Championship victory and their first since 2014.
• Twelve wrestlers have reached double-digit wins this season, while five of those eight have won 20 or more matches. Nicholas Gil and Michael Coleman lead the way in the wins category with each winning 25 matches.  Gil has won at least 20 matches in each of his three seasons - 25-16 as a freshman, 21-7 as a sophomore and 25-6 as a junior.  Coleman, meanwhile, recorded 22 wins a year ago.
Zack Davis (22-9), Corey Wilding (21-7) and Drew Daniels (20-3) all reached the 20-win milestone last weekend at the All-Academy Championship.
• Meanwhile, Davis is just two wins shy of 100 for his career as he stands 15th on the Mids’ career wins list with a 98-50 record, trailing 14th-place Aaron Kalil (2009-12) by three wins.  He needs just two wins to become only the 15th wrestler in program history to add his name to the 100 wins list.  Davis is also among the leaders among the Mids’ career matches wrestled leader board with 148 (8th).
• Bernstein returned to the mat last weekend after having been sidelined for three weeks with an injury.  Boasting a 107-40 record, he ranks 11th on Navy’s career wins list, trailing 10th-place Peyton Walsh (2012-15) by just one. He also stands among the top 10 in career matches wrestled with 147 (#9-tie on the list).  Bernstein is 2-0 in dual action this season and stands 23-4 in dual matches over his career.
