• 2012 NCAA Wrestling Championship Brackets

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. —  Navy junior 174-pound Oscar Huntley (Stafford, Va.) will now face third-seeded and undefeated (20-0) Nick Amuchastegui from Stanford in the opening round of the 2012 NCAA Wrestling Championship it was announced on Thursday afternoon.  The announcement came after eighth-seeded Chris Spangler of Iowa State withdrew from the competition due to injury.  Huntley was originally tabbed to face Oklahoma’s Kyle Detmer, who owned a 10-9 record, and will instead face Amuchastegui who was the runner-up at least year’s National Championship.

The 2012 NCAA Wrestling Championship is slated to begin next Thursday, March 15 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo.
