Conley Falls In Semifinals
Links associated with this release: ALBANY, N.Y.-Navy senior captain Mark Conely (Exton, Pa.), ranked number one in the country at 141 pounds, lost in the semifinals to Aaron Holker of Iowa State, 4-3, Friday night at the 2002 NCAA Wrestling Championship in Albany, N.Y. Conley will wrestle Nate Parker of Oklahoma, Saturday morning for third place. Despite the loss, Conley is guaranteed All-America status. Junior Steve Kovach (Parkersburg, Pa.) picked up two more wins in the consolation bracket, defeating Matt Feast of Pennsylvania, 3-1, and Jason Cooley of Oregon State, 3-2. Kovach will next wrestle Paul Hynek of Northern Iowa, with the winner guaranteeing themselves a spot on the All-America team. The top eight finishers in each weight class are named All-American.
