Men's Cross Country Puts On A Strong Performance At Sea Gulf Opener

SALISBURY, Md. - Navy's 1-2 punch of Justin Maguire and Hale Bullen led the Midshipmen to a first place finish at the Sea Gull Opener on Saturday, Aug. 31. Navy had three runners finish in the top-five.
"Our youngsters stepped up today," said hall of fame coach Al Cantello. "Now we look forward to our next meet next weekend at Fordham."
The Midshipmen showed a strong effort in the season-opening meet, placing four runners in the top-10 with Maguire, Bullen, Gregory Bomke (5th) and Zachary Cammer all finishing within a minute. Maguire paced all runners with a finishing time of 25:47.70 and teammate Bullen crossed the line one second later.
Navy placed first out of 10 teams with a team score of 21. The Midshipmen had all six of their scoring runners in the top-13 with a total time of 2:11.06. Following Navy, Johns Hopkins and Rowan rounded out the top three schools with 45 and 92 points, respectively.
Navy will look forward to the Fordham Fiasco on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 10:30 a.m.
