WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army’s Ricardo Galindo crossed the finish line first overall to pace the Black Knights past Navy, 26-29, on Friday, Oct. 18.
Army defeated Navy for the first time since 2008. The Black Knights last two wins against the Mids have been decided by three points or less.
“We got a spanking today,” stated head coach Al Cantello. “I am not surprised we lost and I want the stinger to remain in from this loss for as long as possible.”
Navy’s Steve Schroeder crossed the tape second overall with a finishing time of 24:36.82. Following Schroeder, teammates Sean Rynning (24:50.90), Zach Hebda (24:59.45) and Sam Peckham (25:00.74) finished fourth, sixth and seventh, respectively.
Behind Army’s Galindo, the Black Knight’s Kendall Ward (24:45.27) and Robert Barger (24:54.32) were able to finish third and fifth to grab three of the top five spots.
The Mids will have two weeks to prepare for the Patriot League Championships that are being held in Easton, Pa.
