BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Navy men's cross country senior Joshua Sink (Welcome, N.C.) led all Navy runners with a 31st-place finish, as the Midshipmen landed 11th out of 28 teams in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Saturday morning at Lehigh.

No. 7 Georgetown, ranked first in the Mid-Atlantic region, won the regional championship with a 45-point performance. No. 27 American, the 2005 Patriot League champion, placed second with 93 points, immediately followed by Princeton's 97 points. LaSalle came in fourth with 114 points and Penn rounded out the top-five with its 163 points. Navy's 295 points were 27 behind 10th-place Villanova and 14 ahead of 12th-place Delaware.

Georgetown's Fleet Hower recorded the fastest time among the 195 runners, crossing the finish line in 30:03.8. LaSalle's Sean Quigley finished three seconds behind for second place, followed by Penn's Courtney Jaworski, Georgetown's Charlie Millioen and Princeton's Frank Macreery.

Georgetown and American each earned automatic bids to the NCAA Championship on Monday, Nov. 21, at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind. Quigley, Jaworski, Macreery and Princeton's Dave Nightingale each corralled automatic qualification for the national championship as they comprised the top-four runners not attached to the top-two schools.

Sink, a three-time All-Patriot League runner, covered the 10k Goodman Campus course with a time of 31:17.0 in his final collegiate race. The senior boasted Navy's fastest time in each of the seven races he competed in during the 2005 season.

The Midshipmen's second- through fifth-fastest times were separated by a mere 20.3 seconds. Junior Adam Craig (Commerce, Mich.) posted the Mids' second-best time on Saturday, crossing the finish line in 31:55.4 for 59th-place. Senior captain Ty Rose (Germantown, Tenn.) recorded a 66th-place time of 32:11.5, followed by junior Michael Niemi's (Duluth, Minn.) 32:12.8 time for 68th-place and senior Maksudul Ali's (Clarksburg, Md.) 71st-place effort of 32:15.7.
