The Navy men's cross country team had 12 student-athletes named to the sport's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, it was announced today by the conference.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester.
Senior Chris Galvin and junior C.J. Elward both earned a spot on the Honor Roll for the third time in their careers. Galvin was previously voted the 2012 Patriot League Men's Cross Country Scholar Athlete of the Year and garnered a spot on the Honor Roll with a perfect 4.00 GPA this past semester as a mechanical engineering major. Elward is a junior majoring in aerospace engineering that posted a 3.2 GPA in the fall.
John Sweeney, who was also named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team with Galvin, posted a 3.76 GPA last semester to earn a spot on the honor roll.
Other Mids that were named to the Academic Honor Roll for the second time in their careers include sophomores Jacob Fox (3.75 GPA) and Jeramy Triplett (3.37 GPA) and senior Kyle Satterwhite (3.82 GPA).
Sophomore Drew Calcagno, along with Galvin, were two of the four student-athletes named to the Academic Honor Roll that had perfect 4.00 GPAs last semester.
Freshmen Drew Anderson (3.89 GPA), Tony Baldessari (3.44 GPA), Anthony Malatesta (3.84 GPA) and Tom Moore (3.53 GPA) all qualified for the Honor Roll in their first semesters.
Sophomore Shane O'Donnell
rounded out Navy's list of 12 honorees as he posted a 3.45 GPA during the fall.
