ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Patriot League announced today that 12 members of the Navy men's cross country team were selected to the conference's Academic Honor Roll for the sport. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the semester of their sport's competition.
With 12 of the 72 honorees, Navy had more student-athletes named to the honor roll than any other school.
Seniors Cody Rome (3.53 GPA/applied mathematics) and Mike Sheehan (3.65/ocean engineering) led the way for Navy as they became three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selections. Rome was previously voted to the conference's All-Academic Team as well this season.
Brian Davenport (3.80/physics), C.J. Elward (3.21/aerospace engineering), Chris Galvin (4.00/mechanical engineering), Jeremy Haney (4.00/ocean engineering) and Eamonn McCarey (4.00/history) all earned Academic Honor Roll accolades for the second consecutive year.
Galvin, Haney and McCarey were three of six men's cross country runners that posted a GPA of 4.00 or better during the fall semester.
Junior Kyle Satterwhite (3.63/economics) and freshmen Anthony Borrego (3.61), Jacob Fox (3.89), Jeramy Triplett (3.35) and Cody Vernon (3.35) all earned their first-career Academic Honor Roll selections.
