Men's Cross Country Competes in Paul Short Run at Lehigh

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy men’s cross country will be tested at the Paul Short Run on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. The Midshipmen will be a part of the College Gold Race, which features 48 total schools. Overall, there will be three total races, Gold, Brown and White, with 141 total men’s squads competing.
Navy has been very competitive through four races. The Mids have finished first twice (Sea Gull Opener and Fordham Fiasco), second at the Navy Invitational and a third place finish out of 20 at the Iona Meet of Champions. Navy is currently ranked seventh in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Mid-Atlantic Poll.
The Mids have been led by sophomore Steve Schroeder, pacing Navy in the last three events. Schroeder has taken home two individual titles, one at the Fordham Fiasco and the other at the Navy Invitational.
The 48-team field in the Men’s Gold Race will feature three Top-20 team’s (#11 Iona, #15 Indiana and #20 Georgetown) in the USTFCCCA National Poll.
