ANNAPOLIS, Md. -
Navy cross country senior Cody Rome was named Patriot League Runner of the Week, it was announced on Monday by the conference office. The honor is the fourth of the season for Rome.
The senior from Eagle, Idaho turned in a time of 24:21.4 - his fastest of the year - to take first place and help Navy defeat Army, 19-37, last Friday afternoon at the West Point Golf Course.
Rome's individual title was the first of his career and it marked the fifth time this season he led all Navy runners.
With four-career Patriot League Runner of the Week honors, Rome is now second to only Andrew Hanko ('11) for the most weekly awards in conference history.
Rome and the Midshipmen will be off this weekend in preparation for the Patriot League Championship on Oct. 29 in Bethlehem, Pa.
