ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's cross country team defeated Army, 23-36, Saturday morning to pick up the N-star.

Freshman Eric Schmidt led the Midshipmen, taking first place with a time of 24:52, six seconds over his nearest competitor. Aaron Lanzel took fourth with a time of 25:02 and senior captian Justin Mikolay grabbed fifth with a time of 25:11.

Ben Morris and Dan Christensen had strong performances. Morris took sixth with a time of 25:13, while Christensen came in seventh with a time of 25:14. Michael French and Michael Rea rounded out the top 10 for Navy. French (25:18) placed ninth and Rea (25:26) took the 10th spot.
