Men's Cross Country to Compete at Heptagonal Championship
Links associated with this release: ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's cross country team will compete at the Heptagonal Cross Country Championship in New York City's Van Cortlandt Park Friday at 11:30 a.m. Navy will be competing against Brown, Cornell, Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard, Pennsylvania, Yale and Princeton. Princeton is the defending champion of this meet. The Midshipmen took fourth at last year's meet. The Mids are having a strong 2000 campaign. They are fresh off their victory over Army last weekend, with freshman Eric Schmidt (Fr./Spokane, Wash.) recording his first career victory as a Midshipman. It was Navy's fifth first-place finish in seven meets. Navy will return to action November 11, when they head to the District II Regional, hosted by Penn State.
