After making its lone home game in a span of five games a memorable one, the Navy women’s basketball team returns to the road this weekend for a Saturday game at Colgate.
The Mids improved their record in Patriot League play to 3-1 with a 61-42 victory over American Wednesday night in Alumni Hall. The victory by the Mids handed the Eagles their first loss in a league regular season game since Navy defeated American 23 months ago.
Colgate is 0-4 in the Patriot League this season, but the Raiders have lost those four games by an average of 5.5 points and have not suffered a league loss by more than nine points. Most recently, Colgate dropped a three-point decision at Army on Wednesday.
Five of Colgate’s six wins this season have been recorded on its home floor. The Raiders are outscoring their foes by an average of 10.7 points a game in home games and are being outscored by 13.3 points a game in contests played away from Hamilton.
Navy and Colgate have faced each other nine times over the last three seasons. The Mids have posted three league tournament victories against the Raiders during this time, with the teams splitting the regular season series between the teams in each of the three years. This includes Colgate recording two-point wins over Navy in games played in Hamilton in both 2010 and 2012.
