ANNAPOLIS, Md.--Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk announced Thursday that the Feb. 19 basketball doubleheader against Army, sponsored by Navy Mutual Aid Association, is sold out. The doubleheader is the star game for both programs and will be televised live by CBS College Sports Network and Navy All-Access.
The Mids swept Army on Jan. 22 at West Point with the women winning 55-46 and the men winning 85-81.
"Thank you to all our Navy fans and the Brigade of Midshipmen for what will be a fantastic home court setting," said Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk. "Both games at West Point went down to the wire and the grudge match for the N Star should be even better. The electricity for this doubleheader is already in the air."
The Navy men are currently 3-4 in the Patriot League and in a five-way tie for third place heading into Saturday's showdown against first place Bucknell (6-1) in Lewisburg. The Mids, who have won three-straight, lost to the Bison on January 8, 71-64. Saturday's game will tip at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on 1430 WNAV and Navy All-Access.
The Navy women enter Saturday's home game against Bucknell in first place in the Patriot League with a 6-1 record, while Bucknell is tied for fourth with a 3-4 mark. Navy defeated Bucknell 62-56 back on January 8. Game time is 7:00 p.m. and Navy All-Access will provide the coverage.
