Navy Game Notes:
Navy will be back in Alumni Hall Saturday when the Mids play host to Army West Point. The 11 a.m. Star Game will be televised nationally on the CBS Sports Network (no online video stream). Locally, WNAV AM-1430, FM-99.9 will provide live coverage of the game starting at 10:45 a.m., and NavySports.com will have a link to live statistics from the game. Sirius (112) and XM Internet (964) also will be airing the game live on the respective satellite radio channels.
Navy earned its third win in a row and 12th win in the last 13 games Wednesday with a 79-44 victory over Lehigh. The Mids enter the weekend as co-leaders in the league with a 12-2 record that is part of their overall mark of 19-6.
Army West Point Update
The Black Knights have won each of their last five games and their lone two losses in their last 10 games have come to co-first place teams Navy and Bucknell by a combined 11 points. Army West Point most recently won a 60-41 decision over Holy Cross to remain alone in third place with its league record of 10-4 and improve its overall mark on the year to 19-6.
Army West Point holds a 34-33 edge over Navy in the all-time series, which includes a 26-25 lead in league regular season games. The Black Knights have compiled records of 17-14 in all games played in Annapolis and 14-11 in league games played on The Yard. Army West Point also holds a 21-14 lead in Star Games, including a 10-7 advantage when the Star Game is played at the USNA.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth online in advance of the game at NavySports.com. Limited tickets remain on sale for the doubleheader that also features the Army-Navy men’s game at 1:30 p.m. The Alumni Hall Ticket Office will open at 9:30 a.m.
USNA Vehicle Access
Vehicle access to the U.S. Naval Academy is limited to those with a Department of Defense identification card. It is suggested that everyone else park at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium ($5. per vehicle) and ride the free shuttle bus to and from the game. Shuttle bus service will begin at 9:30 a.m. Note that a government issued identification card must be carried and presented by visitors ages 18 and older to the USNA prior to being allowed onto The Yard. Visitors from Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico or Washington State, must produce their driver’s license AND a second ID card before being admitted.
