Navy has clinched at least a share of the 2013-14 Patriot League regular season title, but its seed has yet to be determined. However, one win by Navy in either game this week would secure the No. 1 seed for the Mids.
Navy is 3-2 against American in games played under head coach Stefanie Pemper in Washington, D.C. The Mids are 8-5 against the Eagles overall in her six seasons.
The Mids were held to their lowest field goal percentage of the season (30.4%) in the first meeting against American. Navy also posted its best defensive field goal percentage of the year in holding the Eagles to a shooting mark of 30.2 percent.
American outrebounded Navy, 45-36, in the game, but the Mids made seven three-point field goals to three for the Eagles.
Jade Geif needs six rebounds to become the first Mid and sixth player in league history to total at least 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career.
The lone Navy men's players who are 1,000/1,000 performers are David Robinson and Vernon Butler.
