ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy women's basketball team will face Colgate Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. in the quarterfinal round of the 2010 Patriot League Tournament. The winner of the game will advance to the Sunday's semifinal round where they will play the winner of Saturday's American vs. Lafayette game at 3:30 p.m.
The first two rounds of the Patriot League Tournament are being played at the Hart Center on the campus of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. The championship game will be played at the home of the highest seeded team that is appearing in the title tilt.

The Mids posted a record of 8-6 in the Patriot League this season to finish in third place in the final standings. The No. 3 seed is the highest for Navy since the 1999 squad also was seeded third. This will be the fourth time that Navy is the third-seeded team in the tournament. Previously as the No. 3 seed, the Mids advanced to the semifinal round in both 1995 and `96 before making it all the way to the final in `99.
Colgate finished in a three-way tie with Army and Holy Cross for fourth place in the league. The trio of teams all compiled a 5-9 record in league play. Tiebreakers utilized by the league resulted in the Black Knights receiving the No. 4 seed, the Crusaders the No. 5 seed and the Raiders the No. 6 seed.
Navy and Colgate split their two meetings this season. The Raiders won a 56-54 decision in Hamilton, N.Y., while the Mids posted a 69-50 victory this past Saturday in Alumni Hall.
The two teams have met three previous times in the quarterfinal round of the tournament, with Navy winning in both 1998 and `99 and Colgate recording a victory in 2006.
