Fenske Named to League All-Academic Team
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. –– Navy’s Hannah Fenske (Sr., Albuquerque, N.M.) was named to the Patriot League All-Academic Team for the sport of women’s basketball on Tuesday. She was one of six players named to the squad that was announced by the league office.
Nominees needed to be at least a sophomore in the classroom, have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 and be a significant contributor to the team.
Fenske has compiled a 3.50 GPA as an operations research major. She has received academic honors from the USNA in each of her seven completed semesters, which includes earing a spot on the Superintendent’s List this fall. Fenske received nuclear submarines for her service assignment.
On the court, Fenske garnered Third-Team All-Patriot League honors this season. She ended the regular season ranked among the league leaders in three-point field goals made (2.17, third), assists (4.00, third), steals (1.69, tie for fourth) and three-point field goal percentage (35.6%, sixth). Fenske additionally is one of 10 players in Navy history to record multiple 100 assist seasons in a career (2017, ‘18), handed out five or more assists in nine games this season and scored at least 10 points in 17 games.
Fenske, American’s Emily Kinneston (player of the year, first team) and Loyola’s Stephanie Karcz (defensive player of the year, first team) each received post-season accolades for both their academic and athletic achievements.
The all-academic team was established during the 2010-11 season. Audrey Bauer is the lone prior Mid to garner a berth on the team. She received the accolade in both 2012 and ‘13.
