ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy women's basketball team will play at Virginia Tech on Friday in a WNIT first round game. That pairing and the entire 64-team bracket for the event was announced late Monday evening.

It was announced Tuesday afternoon that the game will begin at 7 p.m. at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Va.

All seats are general admission. Prices are $10 for adults and $5 for youth (18 and under). The Virginia Tech Ticket Office phone number is 1-800-828-3244.

No decision has been made by Virginia Tech on a live video stream of the game. A link to live statistics from the game appears on

WNAV (AM-1430, FM-99.9, will carry the game live.

Navy and Virginia Tech met last year in the second round of the WNIT. The Hokies posted a 75-64 victory over the Mids in what was the inaugural game played between the programs.

The Mids received an at-large berth into the WNIT after posting an overall record of 25-7, placing third in the Patriot League with a 13-5 record and reaching the title game of the league tournament.

Virginia Tech received an automatic berth into the WNIT by being the highest placing team in the Atlantic Coast Conference that did not go to the NCAA Tournament. The Hokies tallied an overall record of 18-13 and tied for ninth place in the ACC with a 6-10 record.

The winner of the Navy-Virginia Tech game will advance to the second round where it will play the winner of the Stephen F. Austin at George Mason first-round game. That second round game will be played between March 17-20.

Navy's fellow Patriot League member Bucknell, which received the Patriot League's automatic berth into the WNIT, will face West Virginia Thursday in a first round game.
