Today is Monday March 14, 2011, and although it has been only two days since winning the Patriot League Tournament Championship, the excitement is still rushing through me. We worked so hard for so long and on Saturday it felt as if all the highs and lows of our season were totally worth it. The atmosphere in Alumni Hall was amazing! It felt like we had the whole community behind us on that day and that just made everything so much more special. I always envied those pictures of teams holding that large, shiny trophy and holding up their index fingers showing that they were officially champions, but on Saturday it was Navy Women's Basketball team's turn for that moment and boy, it was everything I wanted and more. What an incredible feeling!

Last night I was driving through McDonald's (because we felt we deserved ice cream) with Chey Arvin, (team manager) Ansley White, Kara Pollinger and Jen Penley. and as we were waiting in the line I looked to my left to see the news rack displaying our team on the front page of the paper. I pointed and yelled, "That's us!" The entire car erupted with childlike shrieks while rolling down the windows to let anyone and everyone know that we were being displayed on the front page!

Later in the night I was watching ESPN with Cassie Consedine and Alix Membreno. The broadcasters were discussing the men's brackets and their hopefuls to win the tournament. We began high-fiving, hugging, and jumping (simultaneously, of course) thinking about how our name will be in the bracket tonight! I can't even express the anticipation and enthusiasm we have for tonight's selection show. I have no doubt that we will be high-fiving, hugging, and jumping during the intro to the show!

This is amazing.
