ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Each day this week, a member of the Navy women's basketball team will chronicle their thoughts for in Navy's run-up to the NCAA Tournament. Jade Geif and Audrey Bauer wrote Wednesday's diary in which they look back on a busy Tuesday for the team.

"After we won our game against Holy Cross on Saturday, we were given championship t-shirts and ball caps to wear. Now, it seems like everywhere we go at least a few of us are sporting the white ball caps. Thank you Patriot League!

"Tuesday was another whirlwind day. In the morning we had a meeting to watch an educational video from the NCAA. We knew what a privilege it was to be watching it with just 63 other colleges across the country!

"Following the video we had media day! Both Erin Edwards and Jade were interviewed by Channel 13. There were also a bunch of other reporters there from a variety of other newspapers and sources. It was really exciting, but nerve racking, to be in front of the camera! We felt like celebrities! The attention brought back memories of last year as the deeper we got into the season the more important the games became. The team really appreciates the attention it has received from the media. It really makes the NCAA Tournament become more real to us with every interview. It is not just a dream and goal we have as a team, but where we are going to be playing on Saturday. The other night when we were at Buffalo Wild Wings, we were watching ESPNs top ten upsets. As a fifteen seed going into the tournament it is something we thought was so cool!

"Next, it was time for a team tradition ... the Olympiad! Every year the team is split up into three teams who compete in a basketball competition. The task is to come up with a team name, a poster, and costumes. We practice in our costumes and get points for winning drills and creativity. The team ideas are always really funny and creative, yet when it comes to the drills everyone's competitiveness really comes out! It doesn't matter what we are wearing, when it is time to play, it's time! The victorious team this year was team "want s'more?!" -- Jen Penley, Kara Pollinger, Erin Edwards and Chloe Stapleton -- whose costumes combined to make a s'more. Everyone always has a great time and a lot of fun!

"Amid all of the excitement and fun we know that we have some serious business ahead of us as we prepare for Saturday's game. Again, we just want to say thank you so much to all of the fans! We appreciate your support and hope to see you at the game on Saturday!"
