ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Senior team captain Ali Currier (Columbia, S.C.) was one of five members of the Navy women's basketball team who garnered postseason awards from the program.

Currier was presented with the Coaches Award for her leadership over one of the youngest teams in school history and her drive to fight through an injury-plagued senior season. She missed the opening six games of the season following her recovery from surgery on her left foot, then missed five games late in the year due to a stress fracture. Currier returned to action in Navy's regular season finale to score five points in three minutes of playing time as the Mids posted a 56-54 win over Colgate on Senior Night in Alumni Hall.

Currier will graduate from the Naval Academy next week and will be commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Emily Cordle (Jr., Rome, Ga.) was tabbed as the Most Improved Player on the squad. Cordle tallied 83 points over Navy's final 10 games of the year, a scoring spree that nearly matched her career total for her first two and one-half seasons (97). She set a new career high in points four times over the last 10 games of the season.

Angela Myers (Fr., San Antonio, Texas) was selected as the Top Defensive Player on the team. The first Navy freshman to start every game of a season for the first time in seven years, Myers led the Mids and ranked among the Patriot League leaders with 55 steals this season, while also finishing second on the team with 76 defensive rebounds.

K.C. Gordon (So., Vienna, Va.) shot 80 percent from the foul line in Patriot League games and 72.8 percent from the charity stripe on the entire season to be recognized as the program's Top Free Throw Shooter. In addition to leading the team in percentages, she also both attempted and made the second-highest number of free throws on the year.

Receiving the Top Rebounder, Top Offensive Player and Adm. Charles R. Larson Award as the team's most valuable player was Cassie Consedine (Fr., Bartlesville, Okla.). Consedine led the Patriot League in rebounding (8.4 rpg) while ranking second in scoring (13.7 ppg) and blocked shots (2.48 bpg) on her way to being named Second-Team All-Patriot League and garnering Patriot League Rookie-of-the-Year accolades this season.
