What did you do this summer?
"I had a Surface Cruise in Norfolk on the LSD-44 Gunston Hall. I was on the same ship that Whitney Davidson '09 is now on. I worked the overnight Navy Women's Basketball camp and I was a 1st Set Plebe Summer Detailer and Squad Leader. On leave, I went home to Highland Village, TX, for a bit, and then visited family at Stony Lake in northern Minnesota. I came back to the east coast a few days early to visit Kristin at her home in New Jersey."

What was your favorite part?
"Being a Squad Leader over Plebe Summer. Hands down, it was the hardest training I have ever done at the Academy, but 100% worth it. It got me out of my comfort zone and I learned a lot about myself and what it takes to be a leader in different situations. My favorite part of leave was going to the lake in MN. I caught an 18" large mouth bass and we made s'mores!"
