Navy's women's crew team concluded its season by competing at the Eastern Association of Women's Rowing Colleges Regatta, Sunday on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J.
Navy's first varsity boat placed 2nd in the third level final and 14th overall with a time of 7:01.80. Navy's second varsity boat placed 11th on the day with a third-level final time of 7:09.68. The varsity four boat for Navy placed third in the petite final - and ninth overall - with a time of 8:15.88.
Navy's first novice boat finished 16th on the day with a time of 7:17.50 in the third level final, while the second novice team placed eighth in the competition with a petite finals time of 7:33.50.
"I thought our varsity boats raced about as well as they could," said head coach Mike Hughes. "The competition they faced was very strong. To advanced to the finals we would have had to beat three boats that are ranked at not only the top of our league, but also among the top teams in the country. Our freshmen boats didn't raced very well in the morning, but both had better rows in the afternoon."
