CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Navy sophomore Renata Bucher and freshman Katie Ryall are among the 25 student-athletes that have been named to the Patriot League Women's Golf Academic Honor Roll, the conference office announced Friday.
To be eligible for the women's golf academic honor roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester.
Bucher earned a 3.61 GPA in the spring semester as an ocean engineering major. Bucher became the first Navy women's golfer to be named to the Patriot League All-Academic Team in 2014. This is Bucher's second time on the league's academic honor roll.
Bucher was named to the All-Patriot League Second Team after placing in a tie for seventh at the Patriot League Championship and she posted Navy's low average for the second straight year at 81.5. Bucher won the individual title at the Navy Spring Classic (242) and had four top-10 finishes in Navy's final five events of the season.
Ryall earned a 3.21 GPA in the spring semester as a chemistry major for her first league accolade.
Ryall ranked second on the team behind Bucher with a stroke average of 87.0. Ryall improved her score from the first round to the second round in Navy's first seven events of the year. She also lowered her average from 89.0 during the first five events of the season to an 84.7 for the last four events of the year.
