The Navy women's golf team will compete at the Rutgers Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Rutgers University Golf Course in Piscataway, New Jersey. Tee times on Monday and Tuesday are from 8-10:20 a.m.
Navy will be one of 20 teams competing at the Rutgers Invitational Also competing will be host Rutgers, Albany, Bucknell, Central Connecticut, Delaware, Fairfield, Fairleigh Dickinson, Georgetown, Hartford, Hofstra, Lehigh, Long Island, Monmouth, Quinnipiac, Saint John's, Sacred Heart, Seton Hall, St. Francis Brooklyn and Wagner.
The Rutgers University Golf Course was founded in 1961 and the par-72 course can be stretched to 6,337 yards and features a course rating of 70.5 and a slope of 130.
Navy has already competed in two tournaments this fall. Navy placed 16th at Bucknell's Lady Bison Classic and was seventh at the Navy Chesapeake Bay Invitational.
Sophomore Renata Bucher (Colorado Springs, Colo.) placed 12th overall at the Chesapeake Bay Invitational with a score of 166 (78-88). Her opening round score of 6-over par 78 is Navy's lowest round of the fall.
Freshman Katie Ryall (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was Navy's second finisher at the Chesapeake Bay Invitational. She shot a 172 (88-84) to place 22nd overall. The 84 is her lowest round of the year.
Bucher leads Navy with a season average of 83.6, Ryall is second at 89.2 and senior Grace Dalton (Malvern, Pa.) is third at 94.4.
Following the Rutgers Invitational, Navy will compete in its final fall tournament from October 27-28 at the Lehigh Invitational. Navy will begin its spring schedule at Butler's Bulldog Florida Invitational in Jacksonville from March 12-13.
