Navy women's lacrosse senior Danielle Vivonetto
is the latest Midshipman to be featured in the 'Meet the Mid' series. Vivonetto plays the attack position and hails from Rocky Point, N.Y. In 2010, Vivonetto ranked 10th in the nation with 62 goals and earned All-Patriot League Second Team honors. Her junior season was shortened due to an injury, but she has returned to full health in her senior year.
The Navy women's lacrosse team will open its fifth season of Division I varsity lacrosse at High Point on February 11. The Mids will have their home opener on February 15 against William & Mary at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Navy has won the past two Patriot League championships and advanced to both the 2010 and 2011 NCAA Tournament.

I Chose Navy Because: I wanted to play for a brand new program and I knew Cindy Timchal would be a successful coach wherever she was.
If I Could Trade Places With One of My Teammates It Would Be: Alexis Cowing, based on some of the things she says. I'd like to know what is actually going on inside her head.
The Best Thing About Playing Navy Women's Lacrosse Is: Getting to hang out with my teammates every day.
My Most Memorable Sports Moment Is: Beating Jasmine DePompeo and the Sayville Golden Flashes in the 2008 Suffolk County Championship.
The Best Player I Have Ever Played Against Or With: I played with Shannon Smith (Northwestern) on club teams and also played against her in college.
