Navy Moves Up to No. 15 in deBeer Media Poll

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy women's lacrosse team (5-0) moved up four spots to No. 15 in this week's national deBeer Media Poll. Navy jumped from No. 19 to No. 15 after defeating Richmond, 12-8, on Saturday. The ranking of No. 15 eclipses the team's previous highest-ranking of No. 18, which Navy was twice, once in 2012 and once in 2010.
Navy has been ranked for each of the last three weeks, matching the 2010 team's season record. The Mids were positioned at No. 20 in the week one poll.
Navy has also been receiving votes in the IWLCA Coaches Poll all season.
In the latest NCAA national rankings, Navy is ranked second in scoring margin (+10.40), fourth in scoring defense (5.80) and eighth in scoring offense (16.20).
Individually, sophomore goalie Annie Foky (Charlottesville, Va.) leads the country in save percentage (.587) and is third in goals-against average (5.43). Senior attacker Jasmine DePompeo (Sayville, N.Y.) leads the country in assists (15), is third in points (32) and eighth in goals (17). Sophomore attacker Loren Generi (Bayport, N.Y.) is sixth in the country with 18 goals and ninth with 23 points.
The Mids will open Patriot League play on Saturday at home against Lehigh at 2:30 PM, following the Navy men's game against Lafayette at 12 noon. On the horizon is a March 11 contest at home against No. 4 Northwestern at 4:00 PM. The Navy-Northwestern game will be televised by CBS Sports Network.
