As a freshman at C. Milton Wright High School in 2002, Erin Rawlick picked up a lacrosse stick for the first time, and made the varsity team.

Eight years later, Rawlick's natural talent, determination and hard work on the lacrosse field have led her to national recognition for the 2010 season.

Rawlick, Midshipman First Class at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, is the nation's leader in goals and points this season -- a recognition she can't fathom.

"I can't even believe I am at this point," Rawlick said.

Rawlick, 21, who grew up in Forest Hill, will graduate from the Naval Academy in May with a bachelor of science in English, and will continue her military training at flight school in Pensacola, Fla.

But before leaving the academy, Rawlick will make her mark on Navy's lacrosse program as one of the most impressive and decorated players.
