CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -
For the second-straight week Navy women's lacrosse senior Jasmine DePompeo (Sayville, N.Y.) and sophomore Loren Generi (Bayport, N.Y.) have earned weekly honors from the Patriot League. DePompeo has been named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week and Generi is the Patriot League Midfield Player of the Week.
The duo helped No. 16/12 Navy (13-1, 4-0 PL) post a pair of road wins last week to extend its winning streak to seven games. Navy won at Longwood, 19-9, and at Holy Cross, 15-5, to clinch a Patriot League postseason tournament berth.
DePompeo scored a career-high 13 points against Longwood last Tuesday, tying the Navy record. She also established a new school record with 10 assists in the contest, which is tied for the second-most in NCAA history for a single game. DePompeo became Navy's all-time leading scorer against Longwood passing 2010 graduate Erin Rawlick and now has 307 career points, one shy of the Patriot League record.
DePompeo followed the Longwood game by scoring seven points on three goals and four assists in the win at Holy Cross on Saturday. It was DePompeo's 10th seven-point game of the season and she is the NCAA's leading scorer at 7.00 points per game.
The senior co-captain wins her fifth-straight offensive player of the week award, establishing a new Patriot League record and she has 98 points (44 g, 54 a) on the season.
Generi earns midfield player of the week honors after scoring 11 goals and controlling 18 draws in Navy's two wins. Generi tied the Navy single-game record of eight goals against Longwood, while adding 10 draw controls. Her 10 draws against Longwood helped Navy outdraw its opponent, 25-5, which tied the NCAA single-game draw controls record of 25.
Generi then scored three goals to go along with eight draw controls in the win at Holy Cross. On the week, Generi helped Navy outdraw its opponents, 41-11.
Generi leads Navy with 45 goals and 74 draw controls after scoring 52 goals with 118 draw controls during her Patriot League Rookie of the Year campaign in 2012.
The Mids remain at No. 12 in this week's deBeer Media Poll and have a season-high 93 voting points.
Navy will host Colgate on Saturday at 5:00 PM.
