2013 IWLCA All-America Teams
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Navy women's lacrosse senior attacker Jasmine DePompeo (Sayville, N.Y.) has been named to the IWLCA All-America Third Team, the organization announced Wednesday. DePompeo becomes the first Navy women's lacrosse player to receive All-America honors from the IWLCA.
DePompeo, a co-captain, helped Navy (19-2) to its best season in program history in 2013. Navy earned the No. 8 seed for the NCAA Tournament and achieved its first NCAA win by defeating Monmouth in the First Round at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, 12-6, on May 10.
The Mids also won the Patriot League Tournament title for the fourth-straight year and made a fourth-straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Navy is currently ranked No. 11 in the deBeer Media Poll and No. 16 in the IWLCA Coaches Poll.
Through May 12, DePompeo is leading the NCAA in total points (127) and points per game (6.05), while ranking second in total assists (71) and assists per game (3.38). She is also 13th in total goals scored (56).
DePompeo established Navy and Patriot League records for most points and most assists in a season and is also the school's and conference's career leader in points (336) and assists (167). She ranks third in NCAA history for single-season assists and career assists.
DePompeo has been well honored during her record-breaking senior season. She was named to the IWLCA All-South Region First Team and was a Tewaaraton Award nominee. She was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year for the third-straight time and also appeared on the all-league first team for the third-straight year. Additionally, she was the Patriot League's Tournament Most Valuable Player and a six-time Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week this season.
The Long Island native was named to the Patriot League All-Academic Team and was a 2012 CoSIDA Academic All-American.
DePompeo is the first Patriot League student-athlete in the past 16 years to receive IWLCA All-America honors and the 10th overall. She also earned All-America Third-Team honors from Synapse Sports earlier this week.
