Larkin Adds Another Accolade to Freshman Resume
ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- After earning Inside Lacrosse Division I National Rookie of the Year accolades on Monday, Navy women's lacrosse's Kelly Larkin (Alexandria, Va.) was named to the Inside Lacrosse All-Rookie team on Thursday.
Larkin received honorable mention All-America honors by Inside Lacrosse earlier this year. In addition, she was tabbed the Patriot League Rookie of the Year and was a second-team All-Patriot League selection, finishing the regular season with a conference-record seven PL Rookie of the Week honors. Larkin was also named a member of the 2017 NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship All-Tournament Team, leading the Midshipmen with six points against Boston College in the Final Four.
On the season, Larkin tallied a Navy freshman-record 108 points (54 goals, 54 assists). She played and started all 23 games as a plebe, recording points in every game with multiple points in 21 games. Larkin scored goals in 20 games, including multiple goals in 14 games. The Alexandria, Va. native led the team in assists and had helpers in 21 of 23 games, including multiple assists in 14 games.
The freshman scored a career-high six goals in the Mids' first ever NCAA Semifinal appearance, and finished the NCAA Tournament with 24 points, netting 14 goals and adding 10 assists.
