Lanouette and Walsh Garner All-Patriot League Accolades

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Navy senior rowers Christina Lanouette and Mary Walsh both earned All-Patriot League honors, it was announced by the conference office on Wednesday. Lanouette was selected to the All-Patriot League First Team, while Walsh garnered a spot on the conference's second team. The All-Patriot League teams are selected by the conference's head coaches.
Both Lanouette and Walsh are part of Navy's varsity eight crew that took third place at the Patriot League Championships last weekend. As a team, the Mids placed second to Bucknell.
Lanouette, a native of Appleton, Wis., is in her fourth year with Navy's varsity eight boat, while Walsh, who hails from Cherry Hill, N.J., is a three-year member of the varsity eight crew.
Based on their first-place finish at the conference championship, the Bucknell Bison led all schools with seven All-Patriot League selections. MIT, which finished second in the race and third in the overall standings, had four total All-League rowers, while Colgate, Holy Cross and Navy each had two. Lehigh had one honoree.
Navy will be back in action on May 13 when it competes in the EAWRC Sprints.
