Penichet Earns Second Academic All-Patriot League Honor

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Navy junior rower Jacqueline Penichet was one of 11 student-athletes named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, it was announced on Thursday by the conference. It is the second consecutive year Penichet has been voted to the team.
Penichet, a junior systems engineering major, currently carries a 3.78 cumulative GPA. She was named to both the Superintendent's and Commandant's Lists in the fall of 2012 and has earned a spot on both lists four times while at the Naval Academy.
The native of South Salem, N.Y., is in her second year as coxswain of Navy's varsity four boat. Navy's varsity four took second place at the Patriot League Championships this season and won the title in 2011.
The 11-member All-Patriot League Team was selected by the conference's sports information contacts. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key contributor. Freshmen are not eligible for this honor.
Navy will be back in action at the EAWRC Sprints on May 13.
