ANNAPOLIS, Md. -
Navy women's rowing sophomore Katherine Ashton has been named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Pocock All-America Second Team. The CRCA recognizes outstanding performances of rowers and coxswains on the national level in women's collegiate rowing.
Ashton, a native of Austin, Texas, was a part of Navy's first varsity boat, which posted a record of 19-4 this season. The varsity took sixth at the Eastern Sprints and third at the Patriot League Championships.
Ashton was the only student-athlete from a Patriot League school to earn CRCA All-America accolades.
To be nominated for the honor, the student-athlete must have rowed in at least 75% of the team's spring races in the varsity boat. Student-athletes are then selected to the first and second teams based on their performance during the season as well as erg score.
