29 Mids Named to Patriot League Women’s Rowing Academic Honor Roll
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Late last week, the Patriot League announced its 2017 Women’s Rowing Academic Honor Roll and Navy was represented with 29 honorees. A quartet of Mids with 4.0 GPAs highlighted the announcement, while May graduates Julia Arthur and Aria Dang capped their intercollegiate careers with a fourth straight nods on the conference list.
To be eligible for the spring Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League’s winter or spring championship sports.
Overall, 17 of the 29 Midshipmen named to the 2017 honor roll are multiple time honorees. Arthur and Dang, four-time award winners, are followed by five three-time recipients: Isabelle Babb, Maeve Broeg, Olivia Czerewko, Miranda Kosmides and Heidi Zisselman. The 10-person group of two-time honorees include, Anastasia Countiss, Sydney Frankenberg, Gibson, Hanson, Kelsey Hastings, Mady Malczynski, Lexi Mendolia, Victoria Meyer, Anna Paz and Lauren Schrock.
Arthur and Dang become just the 14th and 15th Midshipmen in Navy women’s rowing history to garner academic accolades from the Patriot League in all four years of competition.
The 29 student-athletes honored set a new program record for most Midshipmen named in the 13 years of the Patriot League Women’s Rowing Academic Honor Roll. The previous high came last year when 26 Mids were named.
In total, 231 student-athletes from the Patriot League’s nine rowing institutions were named to this year’s honor roll.
