Women's Soccer Places Eight on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The 2013 Patriot League Regular Season Champion Navy women's soccer team (16-5, 8-1 PL) has placed eight Mids on the league's academic honor roll.
A total of 147 student-athletes in the Patriot League were named to the academic honor roll for women's soccer this year. Players must have earned a minimum 3.20 grade-point average during the fall semester to earn a spot on the list.
Headlining the group is senior goalkeeper Elizabeth Hoerner, who had a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall semester as an oceanography (honors) major. Hoerner was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team, the NSCAA Scholar All-America First Team, the senior CLASS Award First Team and was the Patriot League Women's Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Hoerner was also a standout on the playing field, as she was named the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year after posting a 15-5 record and a 0.53 goals-against average.
Junior forward Caprice Kelty achieved a 3.33 GPA in the fall semester as a quantitative economics major to make the honor roll for the third consecutive year.
Senior defender Emily Wilkin and junior midfielder Rachel Hunter are repeat selections to the academic honor roll. Junior forward Morgan Dankanich, freshmen midfielders Emily Tucker, Alison Norris and freshman goalkeeper Chelsea Pixa all make their first appearance.
