Q&A With Olympic Gold Medalist Carin Gabarra

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Head women's soccer coach Carin Gabarra recently sat down with NavySports.com to reflect upon winning the Olympic Gold Medal as a member of the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Gabarra also discussed her current role with U.S. Soccer, gave advice to the future generations of female soccer players and spoke about the correlations between playing for her country and coaching at the United States Naval Academy.

Additionally, Gabarra recently spoke to a group of 75 campers (ages 6 to 12) at Naval Support Activity Annapolis during 'Olympic Week' in concert with the U.S. Olympic Committee's 'Olympic Day'.
Gabarra talked to the campers about sportsmanship and perseverance and showed the campers her Olympic Gold Medal from the 1996 Olympic Games.
Gabarra is about to begin her 20th season at the helm of Navy's women's soccer program. The Mids will host Maryland on August 17 to open the 2012 season.
