ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's and women's soccer teams have announced their respective promotion schedules and single-game and season tickets are now available. All 21 home soccer games (men's & women's) will have at least one special ticket offer or promotion.
Season tickets are available for $60 for adults and $30 for youth 17 & under. The 2012 soccer season ticket package includes one (1) ticket to every regular season men's and women's home game (21 games total) at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility. Season ticket holders also have access to park on the Yard on game days. Single-game tickets are available for $7 for adults, $5 for youth (17 & under) and $3 for group tickets (20 or more) by calling 1-800-US4-NAVY or online at www.NavySports.com(.) All fans are reminded that without a Department of Defense sticker on their vehicle, they must park outside of the U.S. Naval Academy grounds. Fans may park at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium for $5 and take a shuttle that will run every 10 minutes starting one hour before each game and will continue running throughout the game.
Both teams will be instituting a soccer rewards program for the 2012 season. Fans can receive Navy gear by checking in at the marketing table to receive credit for attending each game. The prizes range from Navy decals to t-shirts, hats and jackets. On the women's side, Navy will play 13 home games at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility and will also host its annual four-team Navy Invitational on September 7 and 9. Head coach
Carin Gabarra returns eight starters and the top eight goal-scorers from last season's Patriot League runner-up squad. Navy was 13-6-3 overall and 4-2-1 in conference play in 2011.
The women's team will kick off its 2012 season on Friday, August 17 against national power Maryland at 8 pm. Fans are encouraged to wear blue for the `Mids Blue Out!' event and free pizza will be given to the first 200 Midshipmen.
All fans that purchase a ticket to the Maryland game will receive free admission to the Navy-UMBC game on Sunday, August 19. Fans will have an opportunity to `Meet the Mids' at a special postgame autograph and photo session with the team.
Navy will have five weekends of Friday-Sunday homestands in 2012 and fans can make it a `Navy Soccer Weekend' by using their ticket from Friday for entry into the Sunday contests.
The program will celebrate its 20th season of varsity play when the team hosts Lehigh on October 7 at 1 pm. Navy will also host a free postgame clinic after the contest.
Lastly, the women's team will honor the graduating members of the program during a special pregame Senior Day ceremony on October 27 against Bucknell.
On the men's side, Navy opens its home schedule on August 30 against Robert Morris, and all fans that purchase a ticket to the Robert Morris game will receive FREE admission to Saturday's game against VCU, simply by showing their ticket stub.
The Saturday, Sept. 1, game against VCU is being featured as a `Family Night Out', where a family can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four Coca-Cola products for just $20. Other matches under the `Family Night Out' promotion include High Point (Sept. 8), Richmond (Sept. 15), Lafayette (Sept. 22), Lehigh (Oct. 13) and Colgate (Nov. 3).
For the Sept. 8 game against High Point, fans that bring their ticket stub from the women's game against Rider (Sept. 7) receive free admission.
On Sept. 15 against Richmond, the popular promotion of `Meet The Mids' will take place after the game. The team will hold a FREE autograph session where fans can line up for autographs and even take pictures with your favorite Navy soccer player.
For the Sept. 22 game against Lafayette, fans that bring their football ticket stub from that day's game against VMI will receive free admission to that night's Patriot League-opening soccer game against Lafayette. Also showing the ticket stub from the Friday, Sept. 21 women's game against Boise State will also earn you free admission.
On Oct. 16 against UMBC, any fans that wears Navy gear to the game will receive the group ticket rate of $3.
Lastly, for the Nov. 3 regular-season finale against Colgate, fans that bring their football ticket stub from that day's game against Florida Atlantic will receive free admission to that night's soccer clash with Colgate. It will also be `Hot Chocolate Mug Giveaway Night', where free Navy Soccer coffee mugs with free complimentary hot chocolate (while supplies last) will be available.
The Navy men's soccer team returns 16 letterwinners and eight starters from last year's squad that posted a 7-7-5 overall record and advanced to the Patriot League Tournament for the first time in 10 seasons.
