ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Navy women’s soccer seniors Morgan Dankanich and Jade Seabrook were named to Top Drawer Soccer Women’s Division I Top 100 players in the nation, announced by the website earlier this week. Both Dankanich and Seabrook were the only two Patriot League players to be honored on the preseason list.

Seabrook was ranked 17th and teammate Dankanich was placed 95th overall. The Navy duo have been earning their share of 2014 preseason honors. Both players were recognized by the conference as preseason offensive (Dankanich) and defensive (Seabrook) player of the year. Seabrook also was placed on the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List and TDS Preseason Best XI second team.

Seabrook looks to cement herself as one of the best defenders that have played at the Naval Academy in her final season. As a full time starter the past two seasons, the defender has garnered back-to-back NSCAA All-America and Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year laurels. As one of Navy’s center backs, Seabrook has guided the backline to 23 shutouts and has played in 3444 of the 3917:02 minutes. She has also contributed on the offensive end, recording four goals and four assists the last two seasons.

Dankanich has been a rising forward since she first stepped on the pitch for Navy during her freshman campaign and now has been given the honor to lead her squad in 2014 as the team captain. The forward’s goal total has risen from five to 10 to 14 last season. Of her 29 career goals, 13 have been game winners, including a program-tying best seven in 2013. Dankanich’s 31 points on 14 goals and three assists garnered the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year last season. She was also named to the NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team.
