Seabrook Earns Weekly League Soccer Honor
Sept. 24, 2012
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Navy (10-1-0) women's soccer sophomore Jade Seabrook (St. Paris, Ohio) has been named the Patriot League BRINE Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Seabrook played the full 90 minutes in her central defender position in Navy's 2-1 win over Boise State last Friday as the Mids won their 10th straight game. Navy owns the nation's longest active winning streak.
In addition to holding the Broncos to one goal, Seabrook assisted on junior forward Ashlynn Soellner's (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) game-winning goal in the 90th minute.
This is Seabrook's second Patriot League weekly honor of the season. A Navy player has received the league's top defensive accolade four times.
Navy also climbed one spot to a season-best No. 4 in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Poll. William & Mary (7-3-0) tops the Mid-Atlantic Region poll and is followed by Dayton (6-3-0), La Salle (6-3-0) and Navy.
Navy is also ranked No. 47 in this week's Top Drawer Soccer Tournament 64 rankings.
The Mids will go for their 11th straight win tonight (Monday) at Howard (0-10-2) at Greene Stadium at 7:00 PM.
Navy will begin Patriot League play at home against American on Friday evening.
