Davidson Named Patriot League Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Freshman midfielder Kaylie Davidson (Oceanside, Calif.) has been named the Patriot League BRINE Rookie of the Week for the week ending October 7, the league office recently announced. Davidson earns her third rookie of the week laurel of the season, a Navy program record.
The Navy women's soccer team (15-1, 3-0 PL) defeated Lafayette, 3-2, and Lehigh in overtime, 1-0, last weekend to extend the NCAA's longest winning streak to 15 games.
Davidson scored the game-winning goal in the 99th minute against Lehigh Sunday off a corner kick. Davidson also scored in the 62nd minute in Navy's 3-2 win over Lafayette on Friday.
Davidson ranks third on the team with six goals and also has three assists for 15 points.
She has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week on August 27 and September 17.
On Monday, Davidson appeared in the season's first TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 100 Freshmen Rankings, coming in at No. 84. She is the highest ranked Patriot League player.
For the second straight week Navy appears at both No. 44 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Tournament 64 Rankings and No. 4 in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Poll.
Navy and Colgate are tied for first place in the Patriot League with nine points each on matching 3-0 league records. The Raiders will host the Mids on Friday at 7:00 PM.
