Navy is coming off a pair of 1-0 road defeats at the hands of first-place Lafayette and Lehigh last weekend. At 1-2 in the Patriot League, the Mids are currently tied with Bucknell for fifth place. Colgate is currently tied with Army for second place with seven points.

After being ranked in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Region for the past six weeks, Navy dropped out of the rankings after the 0-2 weekend.

Sophomore Paloma Perez is Navy's leading scorer on the season with seven points (3 g, 1 a). Perez shares the team-lead in goals (3) with sophomore Sam Newhaller and freshman Caprice Kelty.

Sophomore Alexes Lopez-Shaw has posted five shutouts on the season and sports a 0.88 GAA and .787 save percentage. Lopez-Shaw holds an 8-5-1 record in goal.

Prior to the back-to-back losses last weekend, the Mids had won seven of their last nine games, aided by an uncanny ability to score "Golden Goals." Navy has played in seven overtime games this season and has registered a game-winning goal in overtime four times. Sophomore Ashlynn Soellner has scored two "Golden Goals" and freshman Rachel Hunter and Kelty have also struck for game-winners in extra time.

Navy holds a slight edge in the series in games played in Annapolis at 5-4-1, as well as an 8-7-2 lead in regular season games.

Scouting South Carolina State
The Bulldogs, who compete in the Great West Conference, enter the weekend with a 3-6-3 overall record (2-0-1 GWC). This is the second all-time meeting between the two schools. South Carolina State defeated Navy, 2-1, in the Mids' season opener in 2010. The game featured a frantic ending, as all three goals were scored in the game's final 4:03. S.C. State tallied the game's first goal in the 86th minute, before Navy's Christine Calderon tied it at 1-1 in the 87th minute. Just 11 seconds later, the Bulldogs scored again to reclaim the lead and the game.
