Dankanich and Hoerner Honored with Weekly Patriot League Accolades

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Stellar offensive play from forward Morgan Dankanich (Glenmoore, Pa.) and net-minding performance by goalie Elizabeth Hoerner (Lititz ,Pa.) garnered both Navy players BRINE Offensive and Goalkeeper of the Week honors, announced by the conference office on Monday.
Dankanich continues to dazzle on offense, recording three goals to add to her Patriot League lead of 11 this past week. Dankanich's goal in the 55th minute against American and 18th versus Bucknell were both game-winners to give her five on the season. The junior forward leads all Patriot League players in points (25) and goals (11). Her 11 goals currently place her tied-for 15th in the nation and is five behind the leader Elise Kriegoff of Cal Poly.
Hoerner extended her streak of consecutive shutout minutes to 630:22 with clean sheets against American and Bucknell last week. In both contests, the senior goalkeeper recorded six saves a piece to bring her total to 37. The Lititz, Pa. native dropped her goals against average to an eye-popping 0.495, having allowed six goals in 1091:45 minutes.
Following a tough overtime loss to Penn on Monday, Navy will look ahead to Holy Cross on Friday, Oct. 18 in Worcester, Mass. The match is slated for 7 p.m. and can be seen live for free on the Patriot League Digital Network.
