Hoerner and Davidson Video Interviews
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Junior goalkeeper Elizabeth Hoerner (Lititz, Pa.) and freshman midfielder Kaylie Davidson (Oceanside, Calif.) have each earned Patriot League women's soccer weekly honors, the league office announced Monday. Hoerner was named the Patriot League BRINE Goalkeeper of the Week and Davidson was named the Patriot League BRINE Rookie of the Week.
Hoerner and Davidson helped Navy (18-1-1, 6-0-1 PL) defeat Bucknell 1-0 last weekend to earn the Patriot League regular season title and hosting responsibilities for this weekend's Patriot League postseason tournament.
Hoerner made six saves for her fourth shutout of the season and improved her record to 16-1-1. Hoerner leads the Patriot League in overall goals-against average (1.07) and GAA in conference play (0.55).
This is Hoerner's first career conference weekly laurel.
Davidson netted the lone goal in Navy's 1-0 win over Bucknell in the 44th minute. The goal was Davidson's third goal of league play and her seventh overall.
Davidson also has three assists for 17 points and three game-winning goals.
This is Davidson's fourth Patriot League Rookie of the Week award, a Navy program record.
Top-seeded Navy will host Lehigh on Friday at 7:00 PM at Glenn Warner Soccer Facility in the league semifinals and No. 2 Colgate and No. 3 American will meet at 3:00 PM. The semifinal winners will play for the league championship and NCAA Tournament berth on Sunday at 2:00 PM.
