CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Navy women’s soccer senior goalkeeper Elizabeth Hoerner (Lititz, Pa.) has been named to the 2013 Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District II Team, announced on Thursday by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The senior captain has been a key part to Navy’s impressive 15-3 overall record, including a perfect 8-0 Patriot League mark. She helped the Mids clinch their eighth Patriot League Regular-Season Title against Loyola this past Sunday.
Hoerner has started in 17 of Navy’s 18 total matches. The Lititz, Pa. native has recorded a career-best 0.44 goals-against average and an .873 save percentage. Her 0.44 GAA mark is ranked eighth nationally.
Hoerner holds a 3.86 grade-point average in her honors oceanography major. She has been named to the Superintendent’s List five times and the Commandant’s List six times. The senior is a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member.
To be eligible for the initial district ballot, student-athletes must have attained a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.30, be at a minimum a sophomore academically, as well as a starter or key reserve on their respective team. Hoerner will now be placed onto a national ballot to determine the Academic All-America team for women's soccer.
