Academic Honors -- Selected as a 2008 Harry S. Truman Scholar, one of just 65 students across the country to receive the scholarship ... earned First-Team Academic All-America honors from ESPN the Magazine and CoSIDA in 2008 after earning third-team accolades in `07 ... also garnered `07 Academic All-America accolades from the Collegiate Swimming Coaches Association of America ... voted as the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women's swimming and diving in both `07 and `08, as well as the 2008 Patriot League Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year for all sports ... inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars during the fall of `06.

Athletic Honors -- Tabbed as the 2007 Patriot League Swimmer of the Meet ... also named First-Team All-Patriot League in `06 and `08 ... holds Navy records in the 200 fly and 400 IM events ... wrote a diary for a week for during Jan. of 2007.

2007-08 -- Won a pair of individual events and placed second (by eight-hundredths of a second) in another while helping Navy win a pair of relay crowns at the Patriot League Meet ... won her third-straight 400 IM title and picked up her second 200 fly crown ... her 200 IM clocking of 2:03.38 was a career-best time and placed her second in the event at the league meet ... helped Navy win the 200, 400 and 800 freestyle relay events at the championship ... won 24 individual events during the regular season.

2006-07 -- In addition to winning three individual events at the Patriot League Meet, also was a part of Navy's victorious 400 and 800 freestyle relay teams ... set a Navy, league and league meet record of 4:22.95 in winning the 400 IM at the league meet ... also recorded a season-best time of 2:03.44 in winning the 200 IM at the championship ... totaled 20 individual event victories during the regular season, including the 200 fly (career-best and Navy-record 2:02.77) and 200 IM against Army ... competed in three individual and relay events at the USA Swimming Spring Championship.

2005-06 -- Originally broke the Navy record in the 400 IM in winning the event at the league meet ... also placed third in the 200 IM and fourth in the 100 free at the meet ... totaled 26 individual event victories during the regular season while competing in 10 different events ... selected as the Patriot League Swimmer of the Week Oct. 18 after winning the 100 breast, 100 free and 200 IM and helping Navy set a pool record in the 800 free relay against George Washington and Loyola ... would go compete in both IM events at the USA Swimming Spring Championship.

High School -- Graduated from the Maggie L. Walker Governor's School ... earned four letters in swimming ... team won the state title during each of her four seasons ... individually, selected as the league swimmer of the year in 2003 and `04 and earned the high point award at the state meet during the same years.

Personal -- Kelly Marie Zahalka ... born Aug. 11, 1987, in St. Charles, Ill. ... is majoring in history and minoring in Chinese.
