Laura Gorinski

March 15, 2012

AUBURN, Ala. - Navy's Laura Gorinski (Jr., Greensburg, Pa.) enjoyed a very productive opening day at the NCAA Women's Swimming Championship Thursday in Auburn, Ala.

Gorinski posted a time of 2:00.57 to place 45th in the 200 individual medley event. She entered the championship seeded 55th in the 200 IM.

"This was a good day for Laura," said Navy head coach John Morrison. "It was great to see her improve upon her seed as much as she was able to. Also, she was right on pace during the breaststroke leg of today's race, which will set her up well for her stronger events the next two days."

Gorinski will compete in the 100 breaststroke Friday and the 200 breaststroke Saturday.
