Swimming and Diving Teams to Compete for ECAC Titles
ANNAPOLIS, Md. –– The Navy swimming and diving teams will vie for another conference championship this weekend when the Mids travel to Rutgers to take part in the ECAC Championship.
The meet runs Friday through Sunday at the school’s Sonny Werblin Recreation Center in Piscataway, N.J. Trial heats will be held Friday and Saturday at 10 a.m. and Sunday at 9 a.m., with the session of finals beginning at 6 p.m. on the first two days and at 4 p.m. on the last day.

Included among the entered teams are Bucknell, Loyola, UMBC, Penn, Virginia and North Carolina State.
The Navy women’s team has posted a pair of first-place finishes (2014, ‘17) and two second-place showings over the last four seasons at the championship, while the Navy men’s team has claimed the last four ECAC titles.
Both Navy teams enter this week’s meet after sweeping the team titles at last week’s Patriot League Championship.
“Following a great weekend of racing at Patriot League Championship,” said Navy women’s swimming head coach John Morrison, “we are looking forward to the ECAC Championship. Rutgers has been a great venue for fast swimming and there will be plenty of great competition throughout the weekend. Our team will have the confidence and resilience they gained from the Patriot League Championship run to contend for another ECAC title.”
“We look forward to traveling to Rutgers to compete in the ECAC Championship,” said Navy men’s swimming head coach Bill Roberts. “Similar to 2017, it looks to be a very competitive meet with a very deep field of athletes based on the psych sheet. We hope to continue the positive momentum of Navy swimming and diving this weekend.”
